I am delighted to advise that Phillip (Phil) Meyer has accepted appointment as an independent director (replacing Ferne Bradley when her term ends on 30 June). Welcome, Phil!
Phil is a professional director based in Wellington. He has had a long involvement at senior levels in the Australian and NZ financial services sector. He is also a Fellow of both the Institute of Directors and the NZ Institute of Management and a director of a number of high profile companies and not-for-profits, including:
- Southern Cross Healthcare Group
- Kordia Group
- Wellington Zoo Trust
- Wellington Regional Orcestra Foundation
- Enterprise NZ Trust.
He is also a member of both:
- The Disciplinary Tribunal of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, and
- NZX Discipline
and
- Crown Monitor of Whanganui District Health Board.
Phil is the last of what looks like an outstanding line-up of new Board members. While I am sad that I will no longer be part of it, I am confident that the leadership is in place to enable our Institute to continue setting the pace as the professional body for financial advisers.
